Wooden Lightbulb Concept Design

This light bulb concept design by Japanese product designer Ryosuke Fukusada has merged traditional craft techniques with modern design to create an LED wooden lightbulb which actually radiates light. The LED device is wrapped by a wooden shell which is chipped until minimum thickness. According to Fukusada, this wrapping was created by incorporating Rokuro, the Japanese artisanal technique to design an extremely thin wooden shell that produces a soft glowing effect. A recyclable aluminum socket completes the modern impression that the wooden bulbs create. ❚ Flattr this
