Saffeels’ is a unique urban fashion shop located in Munich, offering custom handbags, vintage eyewear and designer clothing. In our interview Sandy Saffeels talks about inspiration on opening her own fashion shop: “Eight years ago a friend of mine stayed at my place because he was in town selling his fashion to shops. Since I had some time available I supported him in finding people to whom he could offer his collection. I found myself very intrigued with this profession and dreaming of how my possible shop would look. After dismissing the idea over and over again out of reasonable reasons like: “The economy is dead” and “You are a film editor not a sales person!” the idea kept popping into my mind. I put off opening a shop and decided to go after other dreams first. So one summer I went on a rally to Mongolia in a fire truck, which we donated in Ulan Bator, the next year I acted on stage in a play for several weeks and the biggest adventure yet was still to open my shop. I knew that the things one regrets most in life are the things you never did, so here I am – I’ve opened my own shop and to top it off it has my own name: Saffeels’.”

I get passionate about fashionable eyewear in particular because I wear tested lenses and I cannot waer stylish sunglasses like other people, so I depend on my glasses to be trendy and young and fresh and fashionable.

It’s funny that a guy once approached me with the comment that “If you dress like that, you want to get guys”. I answered “No, I dress like this because I want to feel good about myself, for myself”. So fashion and accessories has never been a way to get more attention or anything, I dress up in pretty stuff because it makes me feel prettier, more confident and because I CAN do it, so why not?! It’s a way to be creative and it’s fun!
Unfortunately I would very much like to empty those rows of sunglasses, haha… she has a superb taste, I’ve never seen so much sunglasses I’d like to have in one place! The pink frames might win this battle, how cool are those…!

I get passionate about jewelry, particularly earrings. I love wearing a different pair every day but I’m picky! I don’t like diamonds, prefer reds or blues and like silver over gold. Or beads. =D But I’d love to add eye wear to my passions!!
for me it is a way to express myself and be unique. fashion and taking pride in my appearance gives me confidence which is awesome. sometimes an accessory just puts a massive smile on your face and that can spread to others.
It is the best way for the world to see who I am and what I am all about without saying a word. I love how you can wear your mood or your feelings just by wearing a certain pair of glasses or earrings. My passion is expressing who I am and I love being an individual.

I have to wear a uniform to work so when I am not working I really like to show my own style and I love to accessorize. A blue striped work shirt just doesn’t do it for me.

There are so many different styles and moods you can express through fashion and accessories. Everyone likes having options when expressing themselves and you always feel confident about yourself when you like how you’re dressed.
I get passionate when fashion communicates exactly what I am currently living. When it emphasizes what I already am and choose to be rather than making me appear like someone else. At heart. Can be a million things, a million ways to get passionate about it and myself wearing it!
It’s a chance to set yourself apart from everyone else, a chance to show the world who you are, how you think and the creativity you’re hiding inside.
By accessories I feel alive, showing that I am and I want people to accept me. Accessory is the thing that is missing in each of us. It is like cake without cream – no cream,cake is not cake. Whether it’s belt, hat or sunglasses. Accessory makes us feel good. More colors, more smiles and satisfaction.
Passion for accessories is a passion for small and beautiful things of life.
Because everyday you get to show the world who you are or however you feel. You can transform into whatever your heart desires but most importantly it’s what you’re communicating to others without words. Plus it can be just down right fun!
