The Last Amateur – Football’s Coming Home
The new brand Quiet British Accent has released a project that compares today’s professional footballers to the gentlemen amateurs who started the game. The bold typographic t-shirts and letterpress print have been designed on a white palette, echoing the white shirts of the original Corinthian footballers: On 9 May 1936, one-time Corinthian Bernard Joy was the last amateur footballer to play for the England national team.
The Last Amateur t-shirt ($48), available in limited quantities, is part of QBA Project One (find out more here) and is screenprinted with black ink on white, 100% fine jersey cotton, 146 g/m2 shirts with durable rib neckbands. ❚
