Do you remember those “AirFix” kits with fiddly pieces you had to glue together? Why not try your hand at something larger, with this Evanta 1959 Aston Martin 1:1 Scale Model ($TBA)?. It’s a reproduction of the vehicle that Carroll Shelby and Roy Salvadori drove to win the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The staggering 6.35metres by 3.30metres model is handmade and features an impressive level of detail:  four 16″ Aston Martin wire wheels complete with eared spinners, a machined aluminum gear knob and gear lever, Racing Seats in the correct AM weave and full dashboard finished in textured satin and equipped with Smiths gauges, period switches and with a replica of the Le Mans trophy. There’s only one in existence, and it’s scheduled to be auctioned during Goodwood Revival weekend at the Goodwood circuit in the U.K. You can see more images of this inspiring car photographer Richard Pardon‘s blog. ❚
